Capron Warrant Checks
Capron has no standalone public warrant list located in the official review. Use Virginia OCIS or GDC case information to find an eligible case trail, then confirm it with the clerk. A case number or hearing date helps distinguish a court event from another record.
- Search OCIS or the local GDC interface by name, case number, or hearing date.
- Use the charge and locality to identify whether GDC or Circuit Court holds the case.
- Call Southampton GDC at 757-653-2673 for traffic, misdemeanor, or town-ordinance matters.
- Call the Circuit Clerk at 757-653-2200 for felony or circuit records.
- Ask Sheriff Records Management at 757-653-2100 about law-enforcement-held process; confirm before traveling.
Capron Warrant Search Starts With Its Charter
The Virginia Code charter establishes Capron as an incorporated town. It is the reliable source for local-government structure, not a list of warrants or a town-court directory. The official-source review found no standalone Capron police warrant page, municipal court, or online warrant payment tool.
Read the Capron charter for local legal context. The image below shows the charter source; it does not identify any person or case.

For an actual case, use the court named on the paperwork rather than assuming town incorporation means a separate court.
Policing and Courts in Capron
The sources reviewed do not identify a Capron municipal court or standalone warrant portal. Town government and court authority are separate questions: a charter describes town structure, while Southampton GDC and Circuit Court keep case records by court level.

Capron Has No Separate Town Court Docket
Capron's incorporated-town status does not create a separate public court search. The official source review found no local municipal-court portal. For a town-related traffic or ordinance file, identify the Southampton GDC case; a felony file follows Circuit Court.
Ask the clerk which division holds the case before relying on a town label or a generic web search.
Warrants in Capron: The Main Types
A Capron address may connect to a traffic, local-ordinance, misdemeanor, felony, or complaint-based process. These are not all town-issued warrants. The issuing court and docket entry show which agency or clerk to contact.
| Warrant Type | How It Arises | Who Issues It |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic matter | Ticket, hearing, or court event | Southampton GDC |
| Local-ordinance matter | Town issue listed on county court calendar | Southampton GDC |
| Bench-warrant process | May follow a missed court obligation | Court holding the case |
| Arrest warrant | Complaint and probable-cause review | Magistrate or judicial officer |
Capron Jail Farm Is a Correctional Facility
The Sheriff's Detention Division places the Jail Farm outside Capron and describes it as a 100-bed minimum-security facility for nonviolent male offenders. Its page does not publish a warrant list, bond desk, or public surrender hours. The facility's location is geography, not an instruction to report there to pay or clear a warrant.
Confirm the issuing court and ask the sheriff or clerk which official location, if any, is appropriate before making a trip.
Capron Warrant Records: What They Show
There is no public Capron warrant record sample or local number format. The statewide court search may show a case number, charge, court, party, hearing date, and docket events for eligible records. It may not show active service status, an affidavit, or restricted information. Use a public result to locate the file, then ask the clerk what is current.
| Case identifier | No local sample available Use the identifier in an eligible case result. |
|---|---|
| Name / party | Check the court, case type, and charge to distinguish a match. |
| Charge / docket | Ask the clerk to explain a specific entry. |
| Court | Southampton GDC or Circuit Court, based on the matter. |
| Hearing date | Confirm changes and current scheduling with the clerk. |
| Execution status | May not be visible in public case information. |
Capron Warrant Questions Depend on Court Level
For adult traffic, misdemeanor, and town-ordinance cases, call the General District Court clerk. A felony file or circuit capias question goes to the Circuit Clerk. J&DR matters have access limits. For a law-enforcement-held legal paper, ask Sheriff Records Management which office holds it.
Do not ask one office to certify another office's record. Give the case number, court, or hearing date if known, and request the public docket or next authorized step.
Capron Warrants and Southampton County
Capron-related town and traffic matters route to Southampton GDC; felony records go to Circuit Court; sheriff-held process goes to Records Management. Virginia OCIS is public case information, not a warrant registry. For county contacts and the full search sequence, use Southampton County warrant records.

Capron Uses Region 8 Magistrates
Southampton is part of Virginia Magistrate Region 8, which also serves Franklin City, Isle of Wight, and Suffolk. The state says magistrates provide service 24/7 in person or by video, but no Capron or Southampton direct office phone was found. A court clerk or sheriff can help identify the appropriate official route.
Regional magistrate service is not a town warrant portal. The clerk holding the underlying case still confirms docket status and any court-authorized response.
Accessing Capron Warrant Records
Virginia FOIA covers existing public records subject to exemptions. Sealed files, juvenile records, active-investigation material, and sensitive personal information may be withheld or redacted. The Capron charter is public, but a court docket or sheriff record has its own custodian and access rules. Ask for a specific existing record.
Key Rules:
Virginia FOIA, Va. Code § 2.2-3700 et seq. governs access to existing public records.
Va. Code § 2.2-3704 sets request response and charge rules.
Va. Code § 16.1-301 sets a separate public-access limit for juvenile police files.
Capron Population Does Not Measure Warrants
The 2020 Census figure for Capron is 141 residents. It identifies the town's place in the Southampton incorporated-place ranking, not its warrant caseload. The county has no official active-warrant count or town-level warrant total in the sources reviewed.
Use case filings only as court-workload context, never as an estimate of warrants or people with process.
